Introduction: Teaching unit of fractions

Traditional education where students listen to the teacher, pick up notes and take an evaluation test may cause some children to lose motivation, stop paying attention and, in some cases, leave their studies early. ( Bamberger, H., y Oderdorf, C. (2007). In this work, we present a didactical proposal that tries to overcome this type of education with a by emphasizing connections and learning by discovery. Instead, they have to think, reason the whys and wherefores of what they are being questioned, doing group activities, comparing results and touching materials that help them to better understand the concept of fraction. We present seven activities that want to be more dynamic than the ones that you have in a traditional book. These activities include especially equivalent fractions, numeric straight lines and the relation between decimal numbers and fractions.
